We All Have The Will To Win.

But what about doing what needs to be done?

I did a piece on what it takes to be a millionaire. I took a page out of not just my own experience but the experiences of other self-made millionaires that were studied by Tom Stanley and Bill Danko in their book, “The Millionaire Next Door”. It turns out most, if not all, of the self-made millionaires they studied, did a lot of really boring and tedious things.

They almost always lived within a strict budget. These people did not drive luxury cars. They did not eat expensive foods. Most of these folks did not inherit their wealth, they worked for it. They wore off-the-rack suits and clothing and rarely, if ever, wore custom-made attire.

They had a goal in mind and they tediously moved forward. In my mind, they moved quietly, without drawing any undo attention and fanfare. They steadily and tenaciously made financial progress day after day, month after month, and year after year.

It reminds me of this quote:

“The key is not the will to win. Everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important.” ― Bobby Knight
