Super Repair Dude Does It Again
I had about $1000 drop into my lap over the last month.
This is getting a bit weird. First, my dishwasher breaks down. I fixed it using basic hand tools, a new fill valve from Amazon, and a bit of sleuthing on the internet.
Next, the icemaker in my fridge conks out. Again, with the help of a Google search, I found all I needed to do was to press a reset button at the side of the icemaker. Voila, the ice cubes once again flow profusely.
So now guess what? My clothes dryer stops working. It did turn off and on, but it would not run. A code, F01, was displayed on the control panel. The code indicated that the main control board had fried. This didn’t look good.
Once again, here I am faced with another broken appliance. This time, for sure, I would need to call in a repair technician. But, since I am a creature of habit, I started with a Google search. I guess, after doing this twice in the last thirty days, I should not be so surprised at my findings. As has been my good fortune, for my particular dryer, this is a common problem.
I found a couple of YouTube videos that walked me through the repair. The control board needed to be removed and a small piece of wire was to be soldered to the back of the control unit. That kind of repair is not a problem for me as I have all the tools. I have…
