Folding Quilts and Wealth Creation.
What these two seemingly unconnected pursuits have in common.
I was tidying up my front room when I noticed a large hand-made quilt scrunched up and unfolded on the couch. I instinctively moved toward the quilt to fold it and lay it nicely on the back of the sofa. But as I made my way toward the quilt a thought popped into my mind, “I am going to fold this comforter, but I have no idea how I am going to do it.” It was kind of a weird thought to have. Now, who in their right mind reflects on the process involved when folding a quilt? I do, I guess. Just so I don’t leave you hanging, I folded the quilt, not perfectly but acceptably, and placed it on the back of the sofa. It only took a few seconds.
The very strange thing was that I honestly did not know how I was going to accomplish this task. I don’t have a lot of experience folding large blankets or quilts. It is something that I just don’t do that often, maybe I should not admit that, but it’s the truth.
How do you fold a quilt anyway? Is there a set method or some preferred technique? As I think back on my childhood learning experiences, I can clearly remember the lessons I had when I was learning to tie my shoes.
